Last season, adidas Originals brought the Consortium range back after a brief hiatus with a series of five clean sneakers, each wiped free of colors to place emphasis on silhouette and premium material usage in the spirit of "Tabula Rasa." Now, with attention slowly turning toward this summer's Olympic Games in London, Originals linked up with nine partners to take inspiration from their own Olympic memories and translate them into designs for the brand's new Spring/Summer 2012 Collection on the all-white models from last fall's "Tabula Rasa" range.
From Aloe Blacc's transformation of the Decade Hi, to Sydney fashion designer Jim Thompson's vintage track and field take on the Matchplay, Consortium SS12 is a diverse collection inspired by a range of creative backgrounds and a realization of creative visions from the best in the industries, across the world. Each sneaker’s Consortium loop tag features an Olympic colored eyelet on the inside of the tongue, tying the collection together harmoniously.
Additionally, adidas Originals uses the BC silhouette to tell its own story, marking their 20th year of involvement with the Olympics. With a colorway inspired by the original adidas Olympia, a selection of sockliners celebrate classic silhouettes from the brand’s deep connection to Olympic history.
The first "Your Story" drop will be available at select Originals retailers on Saturday, May 19.
