A lot goes into crafting the lightest basketball shoe ever, evident by these detailed original design sketches of the adiZero Crazy Light 2 released by adidas today. The sketches are the work of designer Robbie Fuller, who also worked on the original Crazy Light and the signature shoes for both Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard.

"The adizero Crazy Light 2 is light done right,” said Fuller, adidas Advanced Footwear Concept Designer. “We not only made it lighter, but we made it stronger and more aerodynamic. We work closely with the adidas Innovation Team (aIT) to continuously innovate and find that perfect weight-to-strength ratio that gives athletes better command and agility on court.”

To see how the Crazy Light 2 went from point A to Z, check out Robbie's detailed original sketches below.

The adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 will launch on Thursday, May 24.
