While some signature sneaker athletes are paying homage to their college alma maters in preparation for March Madness, others are showing love to their high schools. Though the Blue Devil faithful are teased with a "Duke" colorway of Kobe Bryant's signature sneakers each year, his path to the NBA was driven by the success he had at Pennsylvania's Lower Merion High School. Once again saluting Kobe's prep years, Nike Basketball is gearing up to release a Lower Merion colorway of the Kobe VII.
The 'Away' shoe pictured here features a mostly crimson upper, including the tongue, collar and inner lining. Grey and white team up on the logos, external heel counter and midsole. Kobe's signature and the Aces logo adorn the heel, while a crimson outsole provides the finishing touch below.
Nike retailers in Singapore are reporting that these are releasing as a Quickstrike as early as tomorrow. No word on a U.S. release yet, but we'll give you an update as soon at that information becomes available.
