Not only is the second half of the 2011-2012 NBA season likely to mark a new era in the on-court career of Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, but it will also mark the next phase of his adidas signature basketball sneaker line. Today, Dwight and adidas officially launch the adiPower Howard 2, his lightest signature sneaker to date.
Built with the power and explosiveness to match the game of the three-time Defensive Player of the Year and six-time All-Star, the adiPower Howard 2 features a shattered glass graphic throughout the upper as a nod to Dwight's rim-rocking slams. Personalized elements include Dwight's signature on the heel, uniform number on the medial side and a Superman-inspired tongue featuring his brand new "dh" logo. Oversize 3-Stripe branding represents Dwight's larger-than-life personality.
On the tech side of things, there are molded stripes and a 3D TPU cage for lockdown support. The brand's ALIVE cushioning provides necessary impact protection, while Cilia Traction and a tar pattern on the outsole give Dwight the ultimate grip. Lastly, the shoe is miCoach compatible, allowing users to track performance and transmit the data wirelessly.
The adidas adiPower Howard 2 will be available this Thursday, February 9 at Eastbay, Foot Locker and shopadidas. Retail is $100.
