On Saturday night, the University of Central Florida announced that Michael Jordan's eldest son Jeffrey is leaving the school's basketball program. Full details on Jordan's departure were not disclosed, but the senior guard did cite "personal reasons."

Jordan, averaging just 2.7 points and 1.8 assists on the season, saw his playing time decrease when A.J. Rompza returned as the team's starting point guard following a 12-game suspension. He didn't travel with the team for their 81-63 victory over East Carolina on Saturday night. His brother Marcus, the team's leading scorer, is staying put.

“I will not be returning to the UCF basketball team this semester due to personal reasons,” Jordan said in a news release. “I thank coach Jones for the opportunity to be a part of the UCF basketball family. I wish the team and coaching staff much continued success.”

Jeff Jordan’s younger brother, Marcus Jordan, remains a member of the basketball team and is the Knights’ leading scorer.

The UCF departure is just the latest stop on the rocky road that has been Jeffrey's college career. He played three seasons at Illinois as a walk-on before transferring to UCF before the 2009-2010 season. After sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, this was his first season with the Knights.

At 12-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference, UFC are currently contenders for the Conference USA Title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

No word on what Jeffrey's plans for the future are, but the sneaker community is looking forward to one of his newest projects. For the last several months, he and his brother have teased the launch of Heir-Jordan.com, a website that promises to give us an inside look at the upbringing and lifestyle of MJ's offspring.
