With traditional grassroots appeal, Charlotte, North Carolina holds a special place in the hearts of many basketball enthusiasts. So Foot Locker's decision to open up a new House of Hoops store at the city's South Park Mall last month seemed like an absolute no-brainer.
The event kicked off with the usual Free Basketball Skills Academy at the nearby Arbor Glenn Outreach Center, where kids participated in a variety of drills to help improve their games. Later in the day, participants were bused to House of Hoops, where, the featured shoe for the day was the Nike LeBron 9. Local talk show host TJ Swann was the master of ceremonies and DJ E Class provided music in the background for an event that honored several Game Changers from around the area.
