Unbeknownst to me yesterday when I chose the Converse Weapon Rap Commercial that today was Larry Bird's birthday, I decided to bring back another installment of Classic Commercials this week, this time featuring Larry Bird.
Larry Bird was born December 7, 1956 in the small town of French Lick, Indiana and grew up to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Larry's superb court vision, passing, shooting, and rebounding skills helped the Boston Celtics to five Finals appearances and three NBA Championships. Add on other accolades such as 3 time NBA MVP, 12 time All Star, 9 time All-NBA First Team, 3 time Three Point Contest winner...the list goes on...and it's easy to see why he is "Larry Legend".
In this commercial, we see Magic Johnson, Larry's long-time rival, visit Larry in French Lick to show of his new Converse Weapons in his Lakers colorway. Before you know it, a one on one pick-up game breaks out between the two as the voice-over urges you to "CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON".
