During the mid 1990s, Nike was producing sneakers so beautiful that the marketing campaign to help sell them consisted of only two things.

1.) A photo of the shoe.

2.) A phone number for more info.

Was it supreme arrogance and belief in the product? Probably.

But when it came to insta-icons like the Air Jordan XI, we really didn't need any further convincing.
