With alumni like Jordan Brand athlete Carmelo Anthony, the famous Virginia-based Oak Hill Academy has been the beneficiary of a wide variety of Jordan products over the last several years, including a Team Exclusive colorway of the recently released Melo M8. Stepping back a few years, the Warriors were also fitted with this custom version of the Jordan 16.5 hybrid in a "home" colorway. Plans for a limited retail release were eventually scrapped, but this look-see sample version of the shoe gives us a close look at what could have been.
The upper of the shoe features a combination of white tumbled leather, red mesh and red patent leather hits on the toebox, tongue pull and heel. Also done in red are the lace eyelets and inner lining, while yellow works branding elements throughout, including Oak Hill embroidery on the tongue. All three colors appear on different sections of the midsole, while a translucent rubber outsole wraps things up below.
