While the NBA is locked out, Nike and Jordan Brand athletes are traveling overseas to strengthen their relationships abroad. Next week, the Jordan Brand will arrive in China for what's being called Flight Tour 2011. Participants of the Flight Tour include New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade. After making the rounds and greeting their Chinese fanbase, the Flight Tour will cumulate in an All-Star Game played on the 27th. For the game, the Jordan Brand athletes will be wearing special Flight Tour PE colorways of their most recent signature shoes.
The Flight Tour Player Edition sneakers are inspired by the design of traditional Chinese opera masks and one of the physical attributes associated with each player. For Dwyane Wade, 'Air'; 'Explosiveness' for Melo and 'Quickness' for CP3. Models include Paul's CP3.IV, the Fly Wade and the Melo M7 Advance. Each pair is accompanied by a matching t-shirt adorned by the mask graphic that inspired the unique colorway. No confirmed word on a release yet, but rumors have suggested a July 27th release exclusively in Hong Kong. We'll be sure to keep you posted.
