With the Jordan Brand re-releasing the Air Jordan XI IE this year, there's no better time than now to take a look at a rare sample from the original run in 1996. Seen here are images of the "Referee" Air Jordan XI Low IE sample, which as the story goes, was issued to select referees to wear with their uniforms during the 1995-1996 season. The shoe is mostly black, with tonal-stitched leather and mesh working the upper. Black also takes care of the laces, inner liner and midsole. A few contrasting hits of varsity red can be seen on the Jumpman tongue embroidery, carbon fiber shank plate and outsole tread.
