Having a strong social media presence is key in brand marketing these days, and no social platform is hotter right now than Twitter. With instant communication to millions at your fingertips, Twitter has become the go-to tool for brands to reach out to their fans. Recognizing the power of Twitter, the Jordan Brand has developed a contest that will gift the winner with more than one reward.
To this point, the Jordan Brand has only followed 22 people on Twitter. The number 23 obviously holds strong meaning for the brand, so they wanted to make their twenty-third follow special. For the Follow 23 Contest, Jordan Brand will not only make the winner their twenty-third follow, but they've also created a special pair of Air Jordan 2011 Q-Flights to give to that individual.
The "Follow 23" Air Jordan 2011 Q-Flight takes on the colors of Twitter, featuring a white leather upper with light blue accents. Blue appears on the mesh windows along the side panels, tongue, Jumpman embroidery and a graphic wrapped around the heel of the shoe. Centered on the tongue is a tonal "@" symbol, which is used to communicate on Twitter. White picks back up at the midsole and is finished off with a blue outsole.
How do you enter? Between 10 a.m. PST today through 10 a.m. PST on Monday, July 25, tweet Jordan Brand a picture of you doing a classic MJ pose (i.e. the shrug, the jumping fist pump, etc.). The picture you tweet must be on a basketball court and include the hashtag #Follow23.
After receiving your photo submissions, they'll post their five favorite shots individually on @Jumpman23 on the morning of Wednesday, July 27. The photo entry that receives the most official re-tweets in the two days after they are posted will earn the 23rd follow.
Check out images of the "Follow 23" Q-Flight below and start working on those Jordan poses.
