First Look: Air Jordan II Max

The Air Jordan II gets an overhaul for today's standards.

words // Steve Jaconetta

The Air Jordan II is returning once again in 2011. But this time around, it is getting an overhaul.

The Air Jordan II first took on a new look back in 2003 when Jordan Brand released the Nu' Retro Air Jordan II. It was an updated look and at the time, the closest most got to the Air Jordan II as it had yet to be retroed (not counting the '94 release). Rumors of broken plates and such made people start to think we would never see the actual Air Jordan II again. But in 2004, it was back and since then has been retroed numerous times.

This time around the Air Jordan II will sport some new features. The Air Jordan II Max as it is called features the upper of the Air Jordan II on top of a 360 Max Air unit. They are in the original white/black-red colorway but  have some slight differences from the regular look II's. These feature a solid red strip on the sides wrapping around patent leather. There is no black midsole either as well as a mesh tongue replacing traditional leather.

No word yet on when these release, retail price or what kind of release they will be. So stay tuned to Sole Collector for more information as it becomes available. Lastly, how do you feel about the new Air Jordan II Max?
