Less than a month away from tip-off of the 60th NBA-All Star Game in Los Angeles, adidas has officially unveiled the uniforms and footwear the athletes will wear throughout the weekend. Using adidas' innovative new designs, participants will have the option to wear an adidas TECHFIT PowerWeb compression jersey or NBA Revolution 30 jerseys for the first time ever.
The brand new TECHFIT jerseys increase player mobility by restricting the ability of opposing players to grab loose jersey fabric. They also feature TPU powerbands that align core muscles and boost power to key muscle groups to improve movement, increasing acceleration and endurance. NBA Revolution 30 uniforms are 30% lighter and dry twice as fast as the previous NBA uniforms, thus making the players cooler, drier and more comfortable on the court.
The Hollywood inspiration incorporated into the All-Star uniform and warm-ups is plentiful. Both the Eastern and Western Conference unis feature bold block lettering inspired by the world famous Hollywood sign. Embossed into the lettering is a graphic of the Los Angeles skyline. To pay homage to the diamond anniversary of the All-Star Game, the uniforms also feature an integrated diamond pattern than can be seen when hit with arena lights.
The players will also be wearing on-court warm-ups that mimic a three-piece suit that you may see being worn on the red carpet. Seen on the jacket is a standard formal three-snap cuff, embellished internal pocket and a liner that features the same print as the uniforms.
In addition to the uniforms, Eastern Conference starters and adidas athletes Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard will debut a second version of their respective signature shoes, the adiZero Rose 1.5 and Super Beast.
The adiZero Rose 1.5 is said to be lighter and more supportive than its predecessor, the adiZero Rose. The shoe features SprintSkin construction on the upper, which is engineered to provide optimum reinforcement, superior breathability and increased durability. Three SprintSkin paneled zones have been incorporated into the design, each representing his brothers Reggie, Allan and Dwayne. He'll begin the game wearing a yellow colorway of the adiZero Rose and will make a halftime switch to the adiZero Rose 1.5.
His teammate, Dwight Howard, will also debut a limited edition version of his Super Beast shoe. The Super Beast features signature Dwight Howard oversized branding, spacer mesh textile lining and a Z-shaped torsion system. Red carpet inspiration is packed into the shoe, which makes use of flash bulb detailing, aluminum stripes and a plush red footbed.
The adiZero Rose 1.5 and Super Beast will launch in February 18 for MSRP $100 at Foot Locker, and will roll out in various colorways through April.
The shoe releases of adidas' two signature athletes won't be the only ones hitting the market. Other adidas players will be wearing the brand's new performance shoe, the adiPure. Like the adiZero Rose 1.5 and Super Beast, the adiPure features a SprintSkin upper, along with an adiPrene cushioned midsole and PureMotion outsole technology. The adiPure will be available in February in multiple colorways, including limited edition All-Star looks and a limited Snoop Dogg Laker-themed collaboration colorway. Retail will be between $90-$100.
Also hitting the racks will be the iconic adidas Crazy 8, which will appropriately be making a return during All-Star Weekend. The re-issue also features PureMotion technology that follows the form of the foot. Multiple colorways will release starting in February.
