It's no secret that Kobe Bryant would have chosen to play at Duke University had he not forgone eligibility to jump from high school to the NBA. He and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski have a mutual respect for each other, and he's often said that he watched Duke games on television and wonders what could have been. I don't think Kobe is regretting his decision, but he has used his sneaker line to salute his would-be alma mater, a trend that continues with the Zoom Kobe VI.
Like the "Duke" Zoom Kobe V, the Blue Devils VI is more color-inspired than it is an actual team shoe with official markings. Royal blue is used for the snakeskin texture on the upper, while black appears on the tongue and heel counter. A healthy amount of white is seen on the Swoosh, tongue and heel branding and the midsole. Royal blue pops up again on the inner liner, laces and a translucent rubber outsole.
