The Ultimate Kicktionary: 1994's Nike Air Unlimited

The overly-strappy Air Unlimited isn't exactly a beacon of modern design, but enjoy a closer look at the neoprene-based hoops shoe.

Timeless? Perhaps not.

But that's what makes the Air Unlimited so awesome. The over-done straps, overemphasized neoprene collar and hits of Deep Emerald make these precisely 1994.

Worn by Chris Webber in Black/ Royal during his Rookie of the Year campaign with the Warriors, the Unlimited's all-lockdown-everything approach perfectly captured the era of more cumbersome and strap-laden hoops shoes over fifteen years ago. Cousin to the Air Carnivore, the Unlimited was not to be outdone, featuring four velcro straps on each shoe. A record of some kind that nobody is after that probably still stands today.
