After a disappointing season last year, Roy Williams leads the 9th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels back to the court tonight to take on Lipscomb at the Dean Smith Center. Apparently, Lipscomb is a school, but that is just speculation at the moment. Looking to re-tool, Williams brought in a top-notch class of players, including the #1 ranked freshman in the country Harrison Barnes. Look for Barnes and the Tar Heels to get back in the NCAA Tournament mix this season.
As official outfitter of Michael Jordan's alma mater, you know the Jordan Brand has an assortment of kicks ready to roll out for the Tar Heels as the season moves along. The first pair we'll see tonight is a team exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan 2010 Team. The shoe is white-based, with University Blue trim and a metallic silver midsole. North Carolina's logo is present on the tongue, while "UNC" is printed along the eyestay in University Blue.
Though we shouldn't expect these to release, these School Exclusive Jordans always have a way of making their way into the hands of collectors. We'll keep you posted if we hear or see anything.
