Following the recent release of the EA Sports NCAA 11 x Tim Tebow Trainer 1.2, Nike has teamed up with the popular sports gaming company once again for another gridiron-inspired trainer. Celebrating the launch of EA Sports' latest installment - Madden 11, and its cover athlete Drew Brees, Nike is releasing the Madden 11 Trainer 1.2.
The inspiration for the Madden 11 Trainer was taken directly from the football. Brown pebbled leather, nubuck and synthetic materials were used for a majority of the upper, while white accents can be found along the inner liner, Swoosh border, laces, and midsole.
Though the look of the shoe is mostly inspired by the pigskin itself, there are also several storytelling elements in its design, including a salute to the reigning Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints. The EA Sports badge is placed front and center on the tongue of the shoe, while Madden 11 is lasered into the forefoot strap. Lasered into the heel of each shoe is an actual diagram of a touchdown-scoring play from Super Bowl XLIV. Additionally, the pre-game chant that Drew leads the Saints in before every game is sublimated on the sock liner top cloth.
The Nike x EA Sports "Madden 11" Trainer 1.2 will be available soon in a limited run of 500 pairs at select retailers. Keep checking SoleCollector.com/NikeTraining for the latest release information.
