words & images_Nick DePaula As part of our multi-part preview from today's World Basketball Festival media event, we have a look at several upcoming colorways of the Nike Hyperdunk 2010. Billed as the ultimate update to the instant classic Hyperdunk, originally debuted at the 2008 Olympic Games, the Hyperdunk 2010 clocks in at a full ounce lighter at 12.5 ounces, and also features a more subtle adaptation of Flywire in Skinwire. Priced at $125, the Hyperdunk 2010 also features a much improved cushioning platform, as the tooling is comprised of both heel and forefoot Zoom Air, a highly requested update from the basketball crowd after less than resilient experiences with Lunar Foam. Another improvement from the original Hyperdunk is the use of a traditional herringbone pattern for added traction. Fortunately, I'll have the chance to play in them tomorrow afternoon, and I'll be sure to report tomorrow just how effective these slight changes are on-court. Check back soon for an extensive interview with Nike Basketball Designer Leo Chang and Product Line Manager Charles Williams, and for now, enjoy a preview of the Hyperdunk 2010.
