We've been taking a look at the footwear of the 2010 NBA Finals
recently, but SC Reader Mike Kelly wanted to know about what sneakers were on their feet the last time these two teams met in the Championship Series in 2008.
Well, Kobe was still wearing high-tops and Rajon Rondo was sporting Reeboks. Of course, the Celtics went on to win the 2008 Finals in six games and Paul Pierce went on to win the Most Valuable Player award wearing the Nike Air Max P2 IV.
Take a look at the sneakers from the 2008 NBA Finals below.
Ray Allen in the Jordan TGIM, defended by Derek Fisher in the Nike Air Barwin
Paul Pierce in the Air Max P2 IV, defended by Jordan Farmar in the adidas TS Lightswitch.
Rajon before he Rondo'd Reebok, defended by Kobe Bryant, in the Zoom Kobe III.
Lamar Odom in the Nike Huarache 08.

Pau Gasol in the Nike Hyperdunk, defended by Kevin Garnett in the adidas TS Commander Finals Edition.

Another look at Garnett's Finals Edition adidas TS Commander.
Of course this is when Kanye started hyping his Air Yeezys.
The reason 808's and Heartbreak released later in 2008?
