words_Brandon Richard This season, you may have noticed Orlando Magic swingman Mickael Pietrus sporting a terribly groomed afro. To the average person, Pietrus looked like a fool. To his accountant, he looked $17,000 dollars richer. Prior to the start of the season, MP made a money bet with Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, and Rashard Lewis. The bet was that he would go the entire season without cutting his hair. Needless to say, Pietrus won the bet and netted the 17 grand. Where can I sign up for that bet? You also may have noticed "Air France" wearing some interesting sneakers throughout the NBA season. Like many other NBA ballers, Pietrus inked a deal with Chinese sportswear company PEAK. That deal landed Pietrus his own PEAK sneaker. The shoe features a black leather base with royal blue accents working on the vamp, heel, and inner liner. White leather wraps around the toe. The midsole is black, and displays PEAK's CUSHION 3 branding tab. Sitting beneath is a white rubber outsole. Stitched on the medial ankle is "Stand Together," a phrase that captures the deep bond that the Orlando Magic players have. Pietrus' "MP" logo is embroidered on the outer ankle in blue. With Li-Ning starting to establish themselves in the United States, it'll be interesting to see if PEAK crosses the water and makes their products widely available to Americans as well. via Kicks & Yahoo
