words_Brandon Richard Back in April, catalog images of the Air Max LeBron VIII started to make rounds on the Internet. Included in the group was a shadowed silhouette and a few close-up shots of key details on the shoe. While the complete design of this shoe is still being kept under wraps, we do have new detailed "sneak peak" shots of LeBron's eighth (wow!) signature sneaker. These new photos show a full-grain white leather upper. LeBron's lion head logo is embossed on the tongue with the number 23 being integrated into the design of the crown. That's especially worth noting due to LeBron's assume jersey number swap to 6 next season. We catch a glimpse of the returning Flywire support system, with the possible indication that it will be revealed through a clear window like its predecessor. On the noticeably longer inner upper ankle, we see a reversed Swoosh. The midfoot appears to feature metal quarter-circle shaped laceholes, while two standard eyelets appear at the very top. Lastly, we see the return of a 360 Max Air unit, with Cushlon midsole and solid rubber outsole. The Nike Air Max LeBron VIII is scheduled to launch in a Black/White-Sport Red-Metallic gold colorway prior to tip-off in October. One has to wonder exactly how free agency will play into those plans. If he signs with New York, will Nike have a Knicks colorway on deck for a release around the same time? If he signs with Cleveland, Chicago, or Miami, then no harm done. By the looks of things, the premium materials used for this sneaker may make it the best in King's court to date.
