words_Brandon Richard You probably already know by now that John Wall recently signed a 5-year deal with Reebok worth a reported $25 million dollars. Also rumored to be included in that deal are two Reebok signature shoes for the presumed number 1 overall pick in tomorrow's NBA Draft. While that may be the case, John Wall will begin his NBA career as the face of the Reebok Zig Slash, the brand's attempt to bring the success of their ZigTech line to the hardwood. At a press unveiling early Wednesday, Reebok officials formally introduced Wall as the face of the Zig Slash shoe. "After a hugely successful launch of our ZigTech training footwear collection, we wanted to extend our technology into new categories. There is no better athlete in the world to debut our ZigTech on-court footwear than the bold, energetic and exciting John Wall," said Reebok President Uli Becker. Reebok Head of Sports and Entertainment Marketing Todd Krinsky echoed those sentiments. "John is a unique player who has a huge cultural influence that separates him from the pack," said Krinsky. For Wall, the feeling is mutual. He made it a point to emphasize the fact that he was excited about the opportunity to be the face of the brand and Zig Slash shoe. "I'm excited to debut Reebok's Zig Slash basketball shoe on the court," said Wall. "I've been training in Zigs and the extra energy the shoes give me is like nothing I have ever felt before." Wall will be featured in a Reebok ZigTech television ad during tomorrow night's draft. See photos of the unveiling below.
