words_Brandon Richard When Caron "Tuff Juice" Butler was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Dallas Mavericks, many believed that it was the move that would put the Mavs in position to topple the mighty Lakers. Unfortunately for Cuban's boys, they made an early playoff exit, dropping their first round series to the rival San Antonio Spurs. Things may get even worse for Dallas this summer, as franchise forward Dirk Nowitzki has opted out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent. While it is believed that Dirk will stay home in Texas, several teams have the salary cap flexibility to not only lure Dirk, but pair him with another superstar caliber player. If Dirk bolts Dallas, Caron will find himself having moved from one "tuff" situation to another. Though the Mavericks fell short, Caron came in and put up his usual numbers. Due to Dallas' loaded lineup, Butler played less minutes per game, but still managed to post 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists a game. With or without Nowitzki, the Mavericks will continue to need every bit of that and more. Seen below is a pair of Air Max Hyperfly player exclusives that Butler wore late in the season, including the postseason. They feature a white leather base, with dark blue filling in the Flywire panel. Royal blue works on the ankle trim, tongue, laces, heel, and outsole. Navy blue can be seen on the "bolt" along the base, as well as the Air unit. Caron's 3D logo, which stands for determination, dedication, and discipline, can be seen on the back. No word on any potential House of Hoops release for this shoe, but teammate Shawn Marion's pair was made available earlier this year. via Inside Nike & Yahoo
