words_Nick Engvall What could arguably be one of the best Air Max collections ever is about to have its final puzzle piece put into place. The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Collection was initiated last year as part of Patta's 5th Year Anniversary, and only four colorways were released, with all of them selling out quickly. Of course the Patta team wasn't going to stop at four, it was after all its 5th year in business. The Patta team has set an example for how to do it, even down to the anticipation of this last colorway, which should explain their five years in business. With the help of another legendary artist, and sneaker collaborator, Parra, the fifth version comes in a suede and mesh burgundy upper. Accented with light blue details and laces, this colorway features Parra's namesake on the tongue patch. Another notable detail is the terry chenille Swoosh that does a good job of mixing things up without losing the subtlety of the tonal upper. Underneath the white midsole resides some additional Parra favorite colors including red, light blue and yellow. Originally some leaked shots of these burgundy versions were thought to be a friends and family only release, and now it looks as if 56 pair were made and will be available at Patta March 13th.
