words_Nick Engvall Artist Huck Gee teamed up with DC Shoes to create a collection of sneakers and gear for Ken Block, co-founder and now Chief Brand Officer of DC. Huck Gee's iconic "Skullhead" character has landed him in the think tank with companies like Kidrobot and Barney's New York, as well as designer Marc Jacobs. His self proclaimed "Bastardized Asian Pop Culture" inspiration has been well received amongst culture enthusiasts and designers as well. In teaming up with DC Shoes, Huck Gee worked on a set of four sneakers, shirt and New Era Fitted to go along with Ken Block's move into a new Ford Fiesta (obviously pictured above) for 2010 as part of the Monster Energy World Rally Team. Huck takes the Skullhead logo and gives it a little Ken Block treatment with his car number 43, then places it into various places in the themed collection. The colors from the collection share the black, white and green colors of the rally car, but also that of the team's sponsor, Monster Energy Drinks. The drip paint details give it some street feel and edginess to break up the monotony of black and white. Look for the collection to drop later this year. via Highsnobiety
