words_Nick DePaula Just when I thought I had seen the most unbelievable "invention" a few weeks ago, two guys somehow topped not only the Booty Pop pad insert, but also shattered all realms of horrible footwear, forced "social media" marketing and common logic all at once. "Inventors" [VERY loosely used] Ricardo Nascimento and Tiago Martins have actually created a shoe, titled the "Rambler," that has a sensor chip embedded within it that can transmit Tweets with every step you take. Depending on the pressure of each step, either a "tap" or "..." will be posted. [I'll give you some time to read that again....] You take a step. And then another step. And the Rambler shoes will post an update to your Twitter feed that the entire world is waiting to read. Enjoy the following examples from the official Rambler Twitter page: . . . . tap . tap tap . . tap . . . . . . tap tap . . . tap . tap . tap . . . tap . . tap . . tap . tap . . tap . tap . . tap . . tap . . 12:12 PM Jan 9th from API [We'll assume this was a high-intensity walk and somebody was in a rush.] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 8:23 AM Jan 9th from API [Earlier that morning, perhaps Ricardo or Tiago partook in a light and consistently footed stroll around the block?] While it might seem like your drunk ass friend is firing off pocket posts unbeknowingly at any random point in the day, this has, by all accounts, actually passed as an invention in the sneaker industry. Anyone tryin' to get their Rambler on? If you get more than 100 Followers for a consecutive month I'll be REAL impressed. Appropriately, at the time of this post, Rambler had 3 Followers.
