words_Nick Engvall The Air Jordan IX will return in three colorways later this year. This is exciting news for some, but for me it means by beloved Charcoal IX's are finally hitting the retro chopping block. Alright, maybe I've known it was inevitable, but still, I can hope right? Anyway, additional colors will include a new Citrus colorway that might be a little on the simple side for some, and the timeless white, black and red colorway. The Air Jordan IX originally released in 1994, but due to Michael spending his time on the baseball field rather than on the basketball court, these shoes spent a long time on the shelves at stores near me. In fact, the reason the Charcoal colorway is significant to me is because it was my first pair of Air Jordans, and I picked them up for $70 off the clearance rack at my local mall spot. Still got them, still rock them. Although the Air units are shot and the bottoms are about as smooth as butter, alright maybe the Charcoal IX returning is long overdue.
