words_Nick DePaula While the release of the Zoom Kobe V is still not quite yet here, we do have an extensive break-down of the parts and pieces of the shoe thanks to HK-Kicks. With a look at the ultra-thin, yet strong, layered Flywire upper, as well as the more breathable mesh tongue innersleeve, you can get a good sense of how the slimmer materials help contribute to the shoe's ridiculously light 10.6 ounce listed weight. One thing that is a bit disappointing is that the forefoot of the Zoom Kobe V features only a Zoom Air "met bag," meaning it doesn't span the entire width of the forefoot and is housed in a smaller volume encapsulated unit. (The Zoom Huarache 2K4 featured an identical cushioning setup.) It's all about that 4th to last picture though, where you can get a great sense of how the lateral support outrigger and external heel counter really work in tandem to lock down the wearer over the footbed.
