Reebok's celebration of 20 years of the Pump continues with the return of another memorable blast from the past, the Twilight Zone Pump.In 1990, after the original Pump took on the world, Reebok had another innovative technology to further advance comfort and performance, the Energy Return System or as many may remember, simply ERS. Although the ERS system didn't turn out to have a cult following like Pump technology, it still finds a place in many retros from Reebok.
Before being left behind in favor of Hexalite technology, ERS had many of us in awe when we pressed on the tube-like cushioning in the sole of the Twilight Zone. Just as described, the cushioning seemed to almost magically respond to the pressure placed upon it. The combination of the two technologies in the Twilight Zone may have been all about performance back then, but it had youngsters like myself mesmerized in many ways.
Originally the Reebok Twilight Zone Pump was scheduled to release in the spring of 2010, but some retailers, like Extra Butter, seem to be receiving their shipments early, so contact your local Reebok dealer to check for availability.
