In true Air Jordan fashion, this was the “away” edition of the original Air Jordan VII. These were nicknamed the “Raptors” once the retro of this colorway was released in 2002 - even though the team did not debut until years after its original release. This colorway was worn by Jordan while he was playing away in the 1992 season.

Please correct me if I am wrong. There are no “home” and “away” colorways for Air Jordan. The colors are “regular season” and “playoff”. This trend started well after 1991-92. For example Lebron beginning 2004-05. Wearing black shoes on the road. Th Kobe-Shaq Lakers did too. I love your site and hate nit-pickers who point out irrelevant crap. But it is wrong, I believe, to call these “away colorways”. You obviously know a lot about the hobby…but I think I’m right. This shoe was worn during the ‘92 playoffs with the Bordeaux in the All Star Game and of course that ridiculous Michael Jackson video.
