The Air Jordan II finally made its return to the retro scene in 2004. The reason it took so long for this model to be retroed was because the original plates that were used to made the shoe ended up being cracked. Because these were made with genuine Italian leather originally, the plates remained in Italy where the shoe was made. Many thought this shoe would never be retroed, and Jordan Brand went ahead and created a “Nu’ Retro” version of the Air Jordan II. But lucky for us this true-to-original retro released in 2004.
