Southern California streetwear company Triumvir was recently tapped by Nike to design their new Flystreetwear & Nike SB collaboration on the Dunk Mid. They were given several categories to work into the design and with their own personal connection to Beijing it was ensured they would come up with something that is personal and respective of the region. They managed to imbue all the categories into the shoe including dust, traffic, highways, noodles, Tienanmen Square and the capital of China.
For an in depth analysis of the process of making these by the designer, please refer to Triumvir’s site. There is a lot of great information on there if you’ve ever wondered about the process of collaborating or designing an official release with Nike. When these release they will hit the Beijing location of Flystreetwear, and other retailers are unknown at this point.
