Since its release in 2006-’07, the Gil Zero Mid and its lowtop counterpart have been among the most sought after models in adidas’ illustrious hoops catalog. Initially dropped in Washington Wizards colorways like white/blue/rust gold and black/gold, the sneaker was released through Eastbay in a bevy of NBA and NCAA-themed colorways last summer. And it appears as if the Three Stripes isn’t done with Gilbert Arenas’ first signature just yet.
Just in time for the ’08 high school and AAU seasons, the Gil Zero Mid recently found its way into Eastbay’s vast catalog in alluring patent combinations. There are twelve variations all told, with color schemes like orange patent/white and forest green patent/white available to match any uniform. From a performance standpoint, the shoe carries over similar benefits from the original, with everything from the podular ForMotion and rounded heel (to improve Gilbert’s funky gait cycle) intact. The Zero Mid is selling for $90, and can be found at www.eastbay.com
