words by Nick DePaula
Taking it back to an era where huge fros and banned-in-that-other-league rim-rattling dunks reigned supreme, adidas plans to re-release their classic Americana Low, which originally launched in 1970 and was the official game shoe for the more daring American Basketball Association.
The white-based colorway makes a strong return in its traditional original colors, and is full with rich felt along the heel tab and the trademark three stripes. It also features athletic mesh along the shoe’s main panel and soft synthetic leather atop the clean toe. For a more modern spin, a black suede version with an iridescent snakeskin textile along the main panel will also release, offering a stark alternative to the more conservative original colorway. You can look for both colorways to release soon at adidas Originals accounts.
