After falling to Greece in the Semifinals of the 2006 FIBA World Championships, the Americans were certainly ready for another run.  The Americans came out a little flat, Jason Kidd picked up three fouls in a minute and a half, an indication that the officials wanted to keep any emotion under wraps and maintain control.

Bryant and Bosh led the Americans with eighteen a piece.  The shooting woes continued from the outside as the Americans went 7-20 from beyond the three point line.  That being an improvement over the last two contests.

The man who stole the show would have to be Dwayne Wade.  Do not question the knee or shoulder, D. Wade is back.  Although he comes off the bench he continues to provide instant offense and imposing defense.  Can he bring this play back to Miami?

Lebron continues to block any feabily attempted lay-ups.  It appears he is enjoying the FIBA rules pertaining to taking the ball of the rim.  He physically dominates the international field. Notice Lebron in the Soldier II’s from the friendlies pack.

Next up for the Americans, Spain which will take place August 16th at 10:15am (ET).  Can they defend Gasol?
