In traditional Chinese culture, Qi Xi, or The Night of Sevens, is comparable to Valentine’s Day in America and takes place on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the Chinese calendar. This year, Qi Xi happens to fall on 8.7.08, just before the Olympic Games begin in China of course.
