Nike’s Next Hybrid: The Nike Blazer 2K9

words by Steve Jaconetta

What do you get when you take the classic look of the Nike Blazer, the innovative technology of one of the first hybrid’s the Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 and the take down model the Nike Air Total Package? Well with those three powers combined I am Captain….actually, you get the Nike Blazer 2K9.

Set to release in the summer of 2009, the Nike Blazer 2K9 is one of Nike’s newest hybrids. Taking cues from the original Blazer, Zoom Huarache 2K4 and the Air Total Package, this shoe is definitely fit for the new millennium. I mean just look at it. You got the look and cut of the original Blazer not to mention the oversized Swoosh on the side along with the midsole and sole of the Huarache 2K4 and the Total Package.

Now I know some of you are probably wondering why the Total Package is a part of this hybrid when the 2K4 has everything and more. Well to answer your question, it’s due to the shoe having just “air” and not “zoom air.” Interesting, yes I know.  Look for the black-based colorway to drop in April, and the royal blue-based one to drop in June. Retail is set at $90.
