It’s not often I wear the same shoes in the same week. It’s unthinkable that I’ll ever wear the same shoes on consecutive days. But when I got a pair of the new LunaRacers on the 4th of July, they haven’t left my feet since. I’ve worn them literally every day. Grocery store? Movies? To Retrokid’s new spot to help him move? Nike Campus for meetings? Check, check, check and check. I even did a light shoot around for 45 minutes at the gym to test out the merits of Flywire.
They’ve now received a starring role in my room’s corner of everyday shoes, along with the likes of my favorite BW Armys and Y3s from adidas, my several Converse Jack Purcells, PUMA’s color-changing Baskets and Injex, and of course the previous daily dose of comfort from Nike — the Presto. The LunaRacer, meant for performance, kills them all across every category — they’re light, spongy, soft and just bright enough to garner some suspecting looks around town. Flywire is aimed to provide some lightweight containment, but when coupled with Lunar Foam, they literally feel half as heavy as Prestos. And after two straight weeks of faithful usage, they’re just as responsive as the first time I’ve worn them. Well done Nike. I’m a fan.

Lunar Foam, ultra lightweight upper, and it’s narrow fit = Heaven for my feet. Such a great pair of kicks. So great to wear around, that I originally intended to pick them up as once a week runners to save the life of the shoe, but I catch myself wearing them literally everywhere instead. A good trade off I think.
