For fall of 2008, New Balance is releasing their Vintage Running collection. Featured here is the 420, a recreation of the vintage ’70s running shoe. The 420 was originally designed with runners protection in mind, and featured a three-layer outsole for cushioning. In 1982, it was rated the #1 running shoe for overall performance, comfort and fit by “Runners World.” As seen here, the original Blue/Grey colorway has been accurately reproduced right down to the original materials and construction. This original colorway and a series of colorways designed by DDC USA will retail for $80-95.
The Original Blue 420 features a vintage look and includes a shoe bag, as seen below.
Additional 420 colorways are also also available now and retail for $60.
