The Carpe Diem Nike Zoom Kobe IV is due to launch on January 17th, 2009 and is a Foot Locker exclusive. The first detailed pics have surfaced on the Internet thanks to Foot Locker Unlocked. Lower than previous Kobe releases they do take cues from the Hyperdunk which Kobe is wearing now, including Flywire and Lunar Foam technologies. Other sweet features included on the Kobe IV is the reptile skin located on the toe box and around the heel, a quilt pattern on the collar, Carpe Diem Crest on the tongue, Kobe’s signature, clear outsole and a premium seamless leather on the toe overlay. Purple and yellow/gold accents are located throughout the shoe but it’s dominated by black and purple and a slight use of grey on the tongue and midsole.

I like the shoe design itself, but the materials used are terrible! WAY TOO MANY TEXTURES AND PATTERNS! This shoes looks pieced together from leftover material from other shoes. NEXT!

I could see that outlook on these. There are times when you can use to many materials or patterns. If they smoothed it out some I’m sure it would look even better. Still, I do like these, but I can see what your getting at.

Yeah definitely. If they stuck with a theme, these could be a hot pair of shoes. Any word of any other colorways of this?

Lebron is the future, embracing comparisons to the g.o.a.t MJ.
Kobe is todays Magic Johnson (a player only ‘old heads’ can appreciate) and his shoes are as attractive to me as a 2009 Larry bird converse release, AWESOME, but what else is on the rack!
I’d rather collect 23’s than drop 2 G’s on 24’s (’Collect’ being the point of emphasis).
