For the past five years, Creative Recreation has been calmly carving out a nice niche in the atheleisure category of footwear. In making shoes that aren’t shamelessly drafted off of an Air Force 1 that actually have their own unique design cues and a consistent design language, the brand has established itself in a short period of time as a staple in the wardrobes of people across several varying demographics, working for the casual business person, to the kid at the mall and even the yachting twenty-something. As Creative Recreation embarks on the next chapter of their brand’s promising future, they’re set to launch their new Italian Collection, which features models made in Milan, Italy that incorporate only the finest choice materials around.
Three models from the Collection include the Turino, Cesario and Porello, each a welcome twist on the vulcanized-heavy market we’re currently enjoying. While the Turino relies on rich, textured suede along the upper and a hidden eyestay lacing system, the Porello is equally low-key and sharp in its use of a perforated panel that dominates the upper and acts as a nice contrast to the thoughtful toe cap. The Cesario is simply a revamped look of the brand’s most succesful model to date, featuring a vulcanized outsole and sleeker overlays that its original form. There’s no word on pricing just yet, but I’d expect both models to be found well above the $100 range.
