Road Trip Day 2 : Jillian’s Boston

words - Nick

So Steve’s flight plans got delayed, leaving Zac and I with the entire day to waste in glorious Boston.

Pahhhking the car in Boston is apparently much harder than anticipated. We tried to hit up Bodega to kick off the day around 1ish, but there was literally no parking in a 15 block radius. I guess Sunday is prime shopping time. We drove Zac drove for 45 minutes around the SAME block while I dozed off, and we tapped into a great moral of the story — If you can’t win, give up.

We headed over to Harvard Square, an epicenter of literally seven colleges all in the same region. Tried to hit up Concepts, but again Boston prevailed in the city’s never-ending quest to entirely piss us off.

Quick break-down:

* Drove 45 minutes around Bodega. No parking. Left.

* Drove 45 minutes around Concept. AGAIN no parking. Left.

* Returned to Bodega. This time triumphantly parking 3 blocks down the street.

* Left Bodega. Went back to Concepts. Got a sweet parking spot across the street. This store kicks ass and has a great wood set-up. Saw the Olympic VI’s in person for the first time. YEEEEESH.

So after two hours of driving we finally got to hit up the spots…and I came away with some black Tech Pack Blazer Hi’s from Concepts.

We were supposed to meet up with a group of forum members around 8:15 at Jillian’s Boston to catch the Lakers/Cetics game.

Of course in true Steve fashion…he didn’t land until 10:20. Way to go chief. Sorry fellas waiting at Jillian’s.

Got there at 11 to watch the end of the fourth quarter. Lakers were getting smoked by 20…and somehow got it down to single digits before going down 0-2 for the series.

Played some pool. Ran a tab. Somehow lost in foosball. I never lose in foosball.

I’m TERRIBLE at pool. Always play me. You’ll win every time. Pretty sure I didn’t make contact with the green ball.

And the man of the night…the bartender.

“That’s MISTER Bahhhtendahhh to you.”
