PUMA-backed Gumball 3000 Hits The Road!

PUMA has teamed up to sponsor this year’s Gumball 3000, an annual worldwide tour that features 120 high performance auto masterpieces that take on a 3,000 mile journey in just eight days. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Gumball 3000 takes on a new route each year, and begins in San Francisco this year as the tour’s cars are driven by movie stars, famous athletes, musicians, billionaires and motorsport enthusiasts. The focus is all about the cars, as manufacturers from Porsche to Land Rover to Ferrari and many more are included in the journey. From San Francisco, the drivers head to Los Angeles, San Diego and then Las Vegas, and from there, all 120 cars and participants are flown to North Korea for the trip to resume. After North Korea’s trek, the drivers and cars will fly to Hangzhou, China to take on Shanghai and Xuzhou thereafter with the last stop of the tour closing in Beijing. Celebrities that have previously participated include Jackass’s Johnny Knoxville, actor Adrien Brody, Hugh Hefner, actions sports heroes Tony Hawk, Matt Hoffman and Carey Hart and musicians like Blink 182, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent. As the main sponsor of Gumball 3000, PUMA actually is allowed to feature their trademarked stripe alongside each car included in the trip, and each driver will also receive a special edition Speed Cat driving shoe.
