With patriotism and Hyperdunks all the frenzy these days during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, what better time to look back on Kobe Bryant and a shoe that he made famous during the 2001-02 NBA Season as a tribute to the September 11th Terrorist Attacks. Using his signature shoe at the time, The Kobe Two, adidas stars and striped his kicks up, incorporating a blue lace cover with white stars atop it, and red streaks across the white mid-panel. While I always found the red striping to be eerily reminiscent of the Pringles guy’s eyes and mustache (maybe that’s just the junk food eater in me), don’t worry, the execution could’ve been much worse. Kobe only wore these size 14 sleds for one game, and there’s said to be only twelve pairs in existence.
