Wierd Question but, I really like a lot of the 1 retros releasing, even the military ones. I think it’d be cool to release like 2-3 AJ1 colorways and designs a month and see how it plays.
To me, the 1 look a lot better then AF1, plus AF1s are fallin off, IMO. I don’t even seed hoodlums wear ‘em anymore.
But then again, releasing a whole line of AJ1 might kill the shoe forever.
So what does everyone else think??

Keep the two seperate! The AJ1 is as fresh as it is today, as it was 20 years ago, BECAUSE OF THE EXCLUSIVITY (yes. that is a real word. read a book.)
The AF1 fell off because everyone + a bum had a dirty pair. TRY to catch someone rockin retro 1s casusally… grimey soles w/ dirty laces. Its not going to happen. You cant waste a good pair of AJ1s because you don’t know the next time you’ll be able to get another pair THAT FRESSSSH.

im gald to see most of the people replying to this know how to read…..
Do it, if they pumped out the AJ1 like they do the AF1 it will for sure sell, only problem is our boy Gentry is in a colorway competition with the people who make fakes…….that is the only down fall, slandering classics with silly CW,,,,,,,

problemz — I think it’s worth mentioning that Gentry hasn’t done colorways for Retro Jordans in over 18 months, dating back to the series of Retro V’s in Fall of ‘06. I think his last colorway run was the Retro IV’s that released earlier that summer. (I can get a clarification on this soon) That’s now up to two other people within the brand, as Gentry now makes broader business directional decisions and is now in charge of heading up their Europe expansion plans.
As for the AJ1, when I personally saw the white/Carolina MIDS with a picture on the side of Michael shooting left-handed, I figured it was time to quit worrying about the shoe having too many colorways. The floodgates are now open, and it’s one of my favorite Jordans and the one I wear most, so I’m not against more colorways releasing as I’m normally pretty selective anyways.
