The November 14th opening of the Chicago House Of Hoops was a big event for Chicago incorporating ball players, djs and musicians from the area. Common preformed his lead, title single off his upcoming, anticipated release “Universal Mind Control” while Drew Gooden signed autographs. Other Bulls players to show up were Larry Hughes, Luol Deng and Ben Gordon. Even radio personality Leon Rogers of WGCI and BET’s 106 & Park co-host Rocsi made an appearance. On Sunday, November 30th Nike and Ben G will present the Made For Skate event taking place in Damski which is in the Netherlands. The guys from Ben G will be running the special pop-up store for the event and helped in the design of the ultra limited Nike SB Blazer that will be releasing. The inspiration behind the shoes design comes from the very first shoe designed specifically for skateboarding. There will only be 24 pairs available for purchase at the pop-up store during the event.

The sneak peeks and previews of this shoe have been rolling in over the last week or two and they promised not to disappoint. Well, detailed pics of the Michael Lau x Nike 1World Air “Crazy” Force 1 Low have been released and they are quite eccentric to say the least. This release qualifies as the half-way point for the 1World project, with only nine more pairs to go in the unprecedented collaboration series created by Nike.

Michael Lau clearly draws inspiration for the design from a psychiatric ward. The upper consists of padded leather engulfed in a quilted stitch pattern, laser etched details on the heel, inner collar and insole. The five by five-count scrawls on the heel celebrate the AF1s 25th anniversary. In addition to these details there are lace locks that read “Crazy” and “Smiles” after Michael’s vinyl toy company CrazySmiles. A special box has been constructed for the sneakers featuring the quilted stitch pattern on it and accompanied by a vinyl toy created specially for this event and sneaker release by Michael Lau and CrazySmiles.

These are due to release Saturday, November 29th at the gallery opening for Michael’s 1World Air “Crazy” Force 1 Exhibition being held at Michael’s Gallery located at Lok’s Industrial building, 204 Tsat Tsz Mui Road, Quarry Bay. A Following release will be held Wednesday, December 3rd at the Nike Sportswear Store located on 7 Pak Sha Road, Causeway Bay.

Fresh off what is the most anticipated news in the Jordan world, we’re back again with more. This time we delve into 2009 and the next model in the Air Jordan x Nike Air Force 1 fusion series, the AJF6.

The AJF6 will debut in January of ‘09 with two white and red versions (one can be seen here), but here’s a look at color that will be releasing a month later in February. We showed you another colorway also releasing in the second month of ‘09 a white/black/varsity purple colorway not too long ago, but now it’s time to unveil another.

This one in a white/black/electro lime colorway features a white-based leather upper with black durabuck wrapping around the heel. The midsole is all black as well with a visible air unit and an all white sole. The neon-ish electro lime color accents the shoe on the midsole stitching, Jumpman logo on the tongue and a few other random places on the shoe.

As stated above, lookout for these in February of ‘09 with a retail pricetag of $160. Sole-Locker has them now, so if you are dying to get them and don’t want to wait head on over there and pickup yourself a pair. DJ Clark Kent has partnered up with Nike and 21 Mercer Street once again this time to bring you a Clark Kent designed Air Force 1 Low, specially made for the kick off of the holiday shopping season, Black Friday. While the details of the textures on the actual shoe are slim, Clark Kent is quoted as saying…

“So I went to the fabric library, picked the prime suspects and went to work on the design. The end result…Something Black, Luxurious & Fly, and FRESH!!!! What better way to start the holiday shopping season?!?!”

From the pics I can make out the use of hair on the toe cap, and it’s probably pony hair. They’ve used a premium leather and what looks to be a contrast stitching on the Swoosh. These will be available at 21 Mercer Street starting at 4am the morning of Black Friday, November 28th. In a move similar to Jay Z, Clark Kent will make two more appearances up and down the East Coast for the release of this sneaker. After 21 Mercer Street he will travel to Concepts in Boston followed by Shoe Gallery in Miami later that day, presenting at the official release for all three stores.

David Z and adidas have gotten together to release a very limited edition Superstar. The title of this collaboration is the Black Tie Project. The design comes from Ronnie Fieg of David Z who wish to create a shoe that one could wear at a black tie affair or with your everyday style. Ronnie and adidas were able to pull this off effectively by using premium pearlized leathers, patent leather, tone on tone pinstripes and by reexamining the rubber shell and midsole. They replaced the rubber shell with a premium embroidered leather and the midsole was wrapped in leather instead of showing the traditional rubber. These added features allowed for a much more sophisticated look to the classic b-boy shoe.

The Black Tie Project Superstar is scheduled to release on “Black” Friday, November 28th for $100. They are limited to only 400 pairs exclusively at David Z stores, Major DC in Washinton, DC and Shoe Gallery in Miami, Florida.

Pics of this Gucci inspired Nike Air Force II High have just surfaced on the Internet. The shoe itself is quite ordinary. It is very simple in color but utilizes a few different textures on the upper, one looks to be that of stingray and I can only assume that the others are of higher quality to correlate with the Gucci name. The pop-off-piece of the sneaker is the heel tab that comes in the classic Gucci colors. There is no word on quantity and release info yet but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as the date approaches.

Ronnie Fieg of David Z has paired up with adidas Originals to create the Black Tie Project. The Black Tie Project is a combination of the direction fashion is heading, towards a classier dressed up look and a classic shoe model that has been involved with fashion trends since their original release. The shoe of choice you ask - the adidas Superstar. The Superstar gets superstar treatment in this project appearing to be made of quality materials and utilizing certain textures from dress footwear. Converse continues the (Red) campaign with the Chuck Taylor “African Canvas” lows and highs. Two colors in the high and the low include a red upper and a black upper incorporating detailed white stitching on the heels of each and contrast eyelets. The upper is made up of African Canvas and 5% of the proceeds from these goes to help the fight against Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Africa. The wait seems to finally be over. The long debate about what the final production colorways for the most anticipated Jordan Countdown Package of 2008 is confirmed.

Through all the rumors of Space Jams and Taxis to Space Jams with red instead of royal and white/red XII’s to black and red XI’s and black/red/cement XII’s and so on, and so on and so on, we now finally know for sure which colorways we’ll be seeing. After confirmed word to unconfirmed word to typographical errors, there is now light at the end of the tunnel. Pictures have finally surfaced overseas of what looks to be the legit final production colorways for the Jordan 11/12 Collezione package.

Two OG colorways will be released after all, and unlike the 19/4 pack which featured two black-based colorways, these are back to the original concept of things: One black-based model and one white-based model. The XI’s are indeed the black and red original colorway which was pretty much the only thing really confirmed since Nike.com released the colorway description. But the XII’s on the other hand seem to be an enigma all of their own.

Well since I gave you a hint above that one will be white-based and one will be black-based and the XI’s are black and red, you all now know that the XII’s have to be white-based. But what could they be? Are they an original colorway like the Taxis or the white/red’s? Or are they an original colorway with a twist, or something new altogether? You question is answered in the pictures below, the colorway of the Air Jordan 12 Retro in the 11/12 Countdown Package is….the Taxis.

So, all you impatient people out there can stop losing sleep over contemplating exactly what colorways will be in the final package for 2008. All you really have to do is start saving your pennies which i’m sure most of you have been for quite some time no regardless of which colors the shoes are. Well you have just about five weeks to go until you have your chance to get them.

The final Air Jordan Countdown Package the 11/12 Collezione will be releasing worldwide on Friday December 26th and will retail for the usual $310 for men’s sizes and $200 for gradeschool kid’s sizes. This pair of Nike Air Force 1 Lows correspond with the Kevin Hunter AF1 Low as they were both made and created as special one-of-one sneakers for big-time Air Force 1 collectors. DJ Clark Kent presented both Kevin and Mayor with their sneakers on Saturday, November 15th. We covered the presentation previously here. Mayor’s AF1 Low features 1,000 laser etched ones on the upper and a glow-in-the-dark material on the swoosh and heel. It was quite hard to previously see the glow effect, but thanks to Ryan, we get to see these kicks in action! The 1,000 laser etched ones represent Mayor’s long time love of the shoe, as he can now celebrate his 1,000th pair of AF1s.

Two days ago we heard about DJ Clark Kent teaming up with Nike’s Innovation Kitchen and Nike Sportswear Bespoke designers to bring Kevin Hunter his very own special one-of-one Air Force 1 Low. To view that post please look here. The design is based on Kevin Hunter’s Bentley, as it’s his prized possesion. The upper features laser etched Bentley logos and design cues from the grille, as well as patent leather and a Swoosh outline stitched in. The details on the shoe are amazing and these pics give us the closest look we will probably ever get at these.

Fresh off of their recent retroing, the Fila Grant Hill 2, excuse me, the Fila Ninety6 will be released in three more colorways. These three styles were designed by NYC boutique Reed Space as a collaborative effort.

First off we have the original white/navy/red with a slight twist on it. Replacing the Fila logo on the inside of the shoe will be “Reed 96″ which is what they would like to call this series. There is also a red chair found on the back heel pull tab. Very cool for those wanting a little something different than the regular one everyone has access to.

The second colorway was done to show love to their home, NYC. New York Knicks-inspired, it features a white-based shoe with orange and royal blue detailing. Perfect for all you NYC heads, Knick lovers or people who just like the colorway altogether.

Lastly, the third and final colorway was “CMYK color separation-inspired” which was done to pay homage to their design roots. This black-based shoe features a unique mixture of pink, yellow and blue on an all white sole. Prefect for those who want to be eye-catchers or those who like to be bold and different. This is my favorite of the three, but the two others are just as nice.

Lookout for these three to be released this Friday November 21, 2008 only available at Reed Space located at 151 Orchard Street (between Rivington and Stanton) in NYC. Also as an added bonus, every purchase comes with a free Fila pinstripe backpack. For those planning on getting these make sure you bundle up nice and warm, it’s pretty cold out there.

Don’t stray away all you Grant Hill lovers, three other GR colorways are available now on FinishLine.com and at a store near you. I’m liking these a lot and wondering how I can get my hands on some? Known around Australia for his Graffiti and around the world for his shoe customizing, Sekure D has been involved in the art and sneaker community for a while now. He has an amazing collection of sneakers and his art has been featured in a number of shops in Australia and even in the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Exhibition in Melbourne. To help understand the immense honor of having your work displayed in the NGV you should know that it is the largest and oldest art gallery in all of Australia, but enough background on Sekure D…We’re here about the shoes.

This is Sekure D’s first official collaboration with a shoe company. Globe reached out to Sekure D based on his talents and believed he would be able to work his magic on this canvas the same way he does to Air Force 1s and Dunks. The shoe itself is the Mace Hi and features a contrast splatter effect on the red toe, wing and heel, with a graffiti pattern on the side panel and collar. Unseen is the insole which features Sekure D’s signature robot arm print and previously unseen but given exclusively to Sole Collector is the outsole pic which was believed to be black but actually features a clear bottom with an underlying splatter print and SD logo.

I was able to ask Sekure D a few questions about his collaboration, here’s what he had to say…

Where did the inspiration for the design come from for the Globe Mace Hi?

There was an overall color scheme that I was working with that involved the colors red, black and white. After that I was allowed complete freedom of design. For people who follow my customs they will immediately recognize the graffiti pattern and then the contrasting splatter on the red panels. The innersole also features my signature robot arm pattern.

Did you get to choose your canvas or did Globe provide it for you?

We discussed a few options but it was a mutual agreement to use the base model, it was my favorite from what we were looking at and looks great on foot.

Lastly, are there any plans for you to design another shoe for Globe or any other company in the future?

There are talks but at the moment that’s what it is, talks, nothing has been set in stone. I am open to whatever comes my way.

These are scheduled to hit select retailers on December 1st, but I would also be checking out Globe’s online shop for these to release. A little exta info I was able to get is that there are less than 2500 pairs of these, so don’t hesitate too long or you might miss your opportunity at snagging a pair.

The University of Memphis was home to this NBA season’s number one pick and possible top contender for Rookie of The Year honors Derrick Rose (I know it’s an early call, but I see your murmurs). Rose is the highest picked Tigers player ever, as the previous highest picked at number three was Anfernee Hardaway in 1993. In the last draft alone the Tigers had three players taken. What does this all have to do with the University of Memphis signing a deal with Nike? When you have a force in college basketball like the Tigers, with the caliber of players they have you would think that Nike or any other company would jump at the opportunity to sponsor the team. It took some time, but now Nike has and will sponsor all sports at the University of Memphis.

The Athletic Department at the University of Memphis has agreed to a five-year, $11.3 million, exclusive contract with Nike that would provide the university with shoes, apparel and equipment for all of their athletic teams. Not only will they receive all that, but the University will also receive product for special events and fundraisers.

So here’s the real question? What will the Memphis Tigers be wearing on the court? I love their colors and hope they get some really fresh kicks that aren’t too generic. The three likely candidates for sneakers will be the Hyperdunk, Powermax and the Blue Chip. I personally lean towards the Hyperdunk and think they can do something cool with that. There’s no telling if Nike can have something made up in time for this season so they might get some generic colorways before it’s out but I’m looking forward to next year to see what they do.

First the “Hollywood” Los Angeles Lakers then the Phoenix Suns. Now pictures have surfaced of the third colorway, this one inspired by the Portland Trail Blazers.

This one like the others is simple in color scheme having a white-based upper with red and black accents. A colorway Jordan fans have come to know and love except this one isn’t for Chicago. Also apart of the Championship Pack, this shoe features unique laser print detailing throughout the upper of the shoe as well. How long will it be before we see the Utah Jazz and Seattle Supersonics (R.I.P.) colorways? Only time will tell.

As of right now no set release date is confirmed, but these will be released in 2009 and will retail for $160. As soon as a set date is confirmed, look for it here as well as in our forums. For all you impatient ones out there, these are available now at Sole-Locker.

The Charity Movember has reached out to DC Shoes to help out their cause. Movember is a charity that raises funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer. During the month of November they ask that you show your support by growing a moustache. Hence the name Movember. The Nike Blue Chip has been getting a ton of play from NBA and College players wearing it on the court, and Nike has been releasing a plethora of color combinations. (Even I have gotten in on the action by presenting it often in Sneaker Watch.) Today’s spotlight is on Brandon Roy’s away version, one of the better Blue Chips if I may say so. These will release at House Of Hoops stores in the U.S. and will hit select Nike Basketball retailers around the rest of the world. Pics of the home version released a while back, and the away version separates itself with a mostly suede upper in a black and red colorway, probably the most appreciated colorway among all sneaker enthusiasts. I can’t say that I’m a big fan of the zig zag seven logo on the medial side though, while the seven works with the Blazer jersey lettering influence the stitching throws me off.

There has been recent rumors circulating that Brandon Roy isn’t quite pleased with the Blue Chip though as indicated by it busting on him a few times in games and practice, which lead to him having to put on another pair in the middle of the game and/or completely switch to his old BB2s.

The Carpe Diem Nike Zoom Kobe IV is due to launch on January 17th, 2009 and is a Foot Locker exclusive. The first detailed pics have surfaced on the Internet thanks to Foot Locker Unlocked. Lower than previous Kobe releases they do take cues from the Hyperdunk which Kobe is wearing now, including Flywire and Lunar Foam technologies. Other sweet features included on the Kobe IV is the reptile skin located on the toe box and around the heel, a quilt pattern on the collar, Carpe Diem Crest on the tongue, Kobe’s signature, clear outsole and a premium seamless leather on the toe overlay. Purple and yellow/gold accents are located throughout the shoe but it’s dominated by black and purple and a slight use of grey on the tongue and midsole.

The PUMA Stepper has been re-imagined in a Yo! MTV Raps pack already this year, but that doesn’t stop PUMA from releasing another pair of what could be the best in the collection, since the pink and green Clydes were first introduced. The Stepper borrows bits and pieces from both Clydes including colors, patterns (notice it is different on the medial and latteral) and placement of those patterns on the sidewall. These are available now at MITA for about $150 or 14,700 Yen.

We all at some point have stumbled across Skate Park of Tampa’s (SPoT) website in search of some Nike SB Dunks, and it seems like in the midst of the madness you could find a lot of stuff on their site you couldn’t find elsewhere. Well the Nike SB thing has simmered now and out of that crazy period Vans still stood strong, staking their claim as the originator.

SPoT has teamed up with Vans to bring the public a new collaboration on the Steve Caballero Half Cab. Designed with an emphasis on synthetic, the shoe features synthetic suede/nubuck and crocodile skin. Of course Croc skin is quite appropriate for the Florida region where SPoT is located. The shoe was designed by SPoT employee Barak Wiser and is available now online at SPoT for $59.95.

We recently saw the “Hollywood” Los Angeles Lakers Jordan Six Rings colorway, pictures have now surfaced of another new colorway.

This one in a very nice white, orange and purple colorway. Can you guess what time it represents? I’ll give you a hint, it’s the home of the NBA’s Suns. Yup, the Phoenix Suns. Alongside the Lakers, this Suns colorway is part of the Championship Pack which will consist of Six Rings colorways made to represent each team the Chicago Bulls faced in the NBA finals during the Jordan era.

Look out for these to be released sometime in 2009 and retail for $160. But if you want them now, MarqueeSole has them available here. Sneaker aficionado DJ Clark Kent presented both guys with their very own “one of” Air Force 1 Low this past Saturday at 21 Mercer Street. Both Kevin and Mayor were unaware that they were being presented the sneakers and were quite surprised by the gift.

The designs come from DJ Clark Kent pairing with the Nike Innovation Kitchen and Nike Sportswear Bespoke designers, Izzy and Mau. Together they were able to tell two stories incorporating important aspects of both Kevins and Mayors lives. Mayor loves Air Force 1s and as he was approaching his 1,000th pair, Nike specially designed this premium AF1 Low in anticipation of that bench mark with gum bottoms, a glow-in-the-dark swoosh, heel tab and 1,000 laser etched “1s” on the upper. Kevin Hunter’s design originates from his love for his Bentley and incorporates laser etched Bentley logos, the matching color from his car, design cues from the grill, and even a box that matches the wood grain in his ride. Another cool feature on Kevin’s sneaker is that it’s Swooshless and there is just a stitch outline instead.

Again, these are a one of sneaker made for Kevin Hunter and Mayor so we can breath easy knowing that we’ll never get our hands on these. We can still dream though right?

Remember January 25th, 2008, the day the first Air Jordan XX3 was released? Well I sure do, the beginning of the end so to speak and what a way to do it. In true Jordan fashion the beauty of a great colorway combined with a super limited availability, there really was no other way they could’ve done it. Unfortunately.

This brings us to the present, it is now November and we have just about six weeks left in 2008. Everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. But us sneaker lovers out there have much more on our plate than turkey and stuffing. We have Jordans, Jordans and more Jordans. It started with the definite cop of the Jordan 11/12 Collezione and upgraded to which of the three colorways of the Jordan XX3 will I get or be able to get on Black Friday?

Can I get all three, maybe? Then the Spiz’ike’s that were once doomed to be just a Euro exclusive made their way over here after all to end the year with a bang (and no not your usual New Years Eve celebration’s). Throw in the Doernbecher I’s, the re-release of the “Nelly” Laser Six Rings to a wider distribution along with numberous others and people are just overwhelmed. Well, prepare yourselfs for one more final suprise from Jordan Brand.

One more final colorway of the Air Jordan XX3 will be released this December. A premier release like the titaniums, these will only be available at the Top 23 Jordan Brand accounts in the U.S. again with each store only receiving 23 pairs making the total amount of pairs available 529. Retail will most likely be $230 as these are another premier colorway complete with the wooden shoe forms. In true Jordan fashion, these are basically the colorway everyone’s been waiting for.

A true black and red colorway with nothing else mixed in. While we’ve had bascially two Bulls themed colorways so far all have had white thrown in there somehow, but not this one. This one is completely black-based with only red accenting the rest of the shoe. Jordan Brand definitely saved the best for last so to speak.

As stated above these will be a super limited release slated for sometime in December. No official date is confirmed yet but stay tuned as when we have it you all will be the first to know. Retail once again should be $230 and availability will be 23 pairs per store at the top 23 Jordan Brand accounts in the U.S. Remember, we now have a few more House Of Hoops locations so the store list might’ve changed a bit. When that is confirmed as well, look for an update here.

Reebok is pushing the Freestyle like it is the Iverson Question for women. They loved it in the 80’s during aerobics classes, why wouldn’t it be hot again now with the 80’s movement still fairly strong? While there is still a market for this sort of thing I don’t foresee the movement lasting to much longer. Don’t mind my style forecast. This shoe is apart of the “Style Cities” pack and celebrates New York City, featuring a yellow police tape upper with taxi cab accents. The upper hints at locations around NY, these should be releasing at select Reebok retailers over the next few weeks.
