With the year of the XX3 upon us, Jordan Brand continues to keep us on our toes - updating their website frequently with info, pics, vids, etc. This is a dramatic change from the past where updates were few and far between. But with additions like “Release Dates” and the members-only “Flight Club,” the site has definitely come a long way in such a short time.
With this update they have decided to show us a few upcoming releases that we can expect in both May and June 2008. While a few of them we have seen pop up on the net in the past few weeks, the others are new to mostly everyone’s eyes. So we start off in May with the debut of the newest signature model for Derek Jeter, the Jumpman Jeter Clutch.
The shoe will retail for $100, which is $10 less than last years Jumpman Jeter Vital. The first colorways will release on May 3rd in Black/Metallic Silver/Varsity Red and White/Black/University Blue. The design inspiration was mainly a tribute to the final season of Yankee Stadium as well as the usual pinstripes from the Yankees’ uniform. Look out for more colorways as well as the usual low-top version in months to come. Next up are the newest colorways of this quarter’s Fusion, the AJF5.
Following the success of the first Fusion, the AJF12, the AJF5 made its debut just two weeks ago with the initial release of four colorways - three for men and one for kids. The next four colorways following the Flight Club exclusive will be releasing on May 10th. White/Orange Peel/Blue Chill/Stealth/Varsity Maize and Stealth/Black/White/Bright Cactus will be the two general releases for men. A White/Orange Peel/Blue Chill/Varsity Maize colorway with a plaid design will be the limited lifestyle release for men, and a White/Sunburst/Grey Violet will be the kid’s colorway. For those not up on the Fusion series, AJF5 stands for Air Jordan Force 5, which combines the Air Jordan 5 with the Nike’s Air Force 1 and has been dubbed, “The Best Of Both Worlds.”
Just about four weeks later, heading into the month of June, will bring the third colorway of the Jeter Clutch and another batch of Flight 23s. The Jeter will be in the traditional White/Metallic Silver/Midnight Navy colorway and one of the many colorways releasing for the Flight 23 will be Black/Metallic Silver/White/Varsity Red. Both the new colorway of the Jeter Clutch and the new colorways of the Flight 23 will be available everywhere on June 1st. Continuing the non-stop releases, just two weeks after, on June 14th, we get to the final two colorways of the AJF5 - both general releases. The first will be in the Jordan 5 original White/Varsity Red/Black colorway, and accompanying it will be a new White/Varsity Red/Blue Ribbon/New Blue colorway which seems to be one of the more popular new colorways for Jordan Brand here in 2008.
So with that we reach the halfway point of the year 2008 and I must say, what a half year it has been indeed. Countdown packs, Fusions, quickstrikes, and XX3s just to name a few. What many believe is the grandest year in Jordan Brand’s history is not showing any signs of slowing down as we get into the final six months of year XX3.
