He says he's the greatest wide receiver of all time, and whether or not you agree, he's certainly in the discussion. Over the last 15 years, Randy Moss has established himself as arguably the most intimidating deep-ball threat in NFL history. With 969 catches, more than 15,000 yards and 155 touchdown receptions to his credit, Randy is well on his way to Canton, and a Super Bowl win with the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday would be the icing on the cake.
Celebrating Randy's upcoming Super Bowl appearance and the Jordan Brand's XX8 Days of Flight, we flash back to 2001, when the Team Jordan athlete spent part of the season in a Player Exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan XI. Seen in these game shots, Moss' XI features a white upper, purple patent mudguard, gold piping, Moss across the tongue, a heel pull-tab and a basketball-style sole. The Moss XI is an extremely evasive sneaker that has managed to find the hands of only a few collectors.
In this particular game, a divisional playoff match-up against the New Orleans Saints, Randy showed us exactly why he's widely considered the most dangerous deep threat of all-time. Moss caught just two passes, one for 53 yards and the other for 68, each for touchdowns. The Vikings advanced with a 34-16 victory, but were eliminated by the New York Giants in the Conference Championship.
