Recognizing the 2014 World Cup’s top goal scorer, adidas and FIFA officially presented the Golden Boot Trophy to Colombia’s James Rodriguez during a presentation in Madrid today.

Rodriguez finished the World Cup with 6 goals, scoring in all 5 of his games, including a penalty kick in Colombia’s 2-1 quarter final defeat by Brazil and a highlight-worthy volley again Uruguay in the round of 16.

“I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of my family and my international team mates who have been there for me every step of the way,” said Rodriguez. “The tournament in Brazil was an unbelievable experience for me personally, but also for Colombia as a nation as the team reached heights we have never reached before. To finish the tournament as top goal scorer is a great achievement and I look forward to many more successes with Colombia and with my new club, Real Madrid.”

Rodriguez’s Golden Boot completes a clean sweep of trophies for Team adidas at the World Cup. Germany won the tournament, Leo Messi won the Golden Ball for best overall performance and Manuel Neuer took home the Golden Glove for best goalkeeping.

Additionally, to celebrate Rodriguez’s Golden Boot, adidas created 6 pairs of miadidas adizero F50 cleats, commemorating each of his World Cup goals. The cleats will be given away today via Rodriguez’s personal Twitter account (@jamesdrodriguez) and via @adidasFootball.
